Philips is to re-define the classification of white LED acco

Philips is to re-define the classification of white LED acco: SteveLandau, director of Marketing & Public Relations Dept. in Philips LumiLEDs, said that Lumileds has been collecting comments and suggestions among lighting manufacturers, architects and other lighting applications vendors according to market demand for one year. The company plans to redefine the classification of various confusing concepts for LED according to different color temperatures.
In 2009, Lumileds produced white LED lights with color temperature of 2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K by introducing LuxeonRebEL packaging technology and adopting self-produced GaN chips. The Rebel ES produced by PhilipsLumileds won a Technology Innovation Award in Lightfair2009. It provides cool white light with a color temperature of 5650K and a neutral white light with color temperature of 4100K. SteveLandau remarked that this is Lumileds’ latest fruit generated from this concept with best color temperature so far. He further pointed out that accurate color temperature is the very strategy of Lumileds and now the company is to apply the relevant technology to the market in order to meet the lighting needs.
